TITLE: Launch of the Multiple Higher Educational Institutions – Masters in Entrepreneurship Online Master Course at the Zilina University in Slovakia

Masters in Entrepreneurship – Information Meeting
On February 26, 2018, UNIZA students visited an information meeting held at the premises of Aula 2 of the Zilina University in Zilina. Subsequently, the University of Zilina representatives presented a project called MHEI-ME (Multiple Higher Educational Institutions – Masters in Entrepreneurship). Above all, the aim of the project is to provide students with the opportunity to acquire an elearning education in the online programme Masters in the Entrepreneurship.
The Online Masters in Entrepreneurship study program is as an original initiative of the consortium of the European Higher Education Institutions (MHEI). Essentially, the purpose of the online master is to respond to the requirements of the labour market for the higher quality of graduates. In addition, this programme applies in order to meet the needs of entrepreneurs and managers in small and medium-sized enterprises.
The Online Master created in collaboration with Zilina University is a study program designed for business needs specifically, Small and Medium Enterprises. Eventually, the purpose is to help entrepreneurs and managers who would like to start their own small and medium business environment. Therefore, the main benefit, streaming from the co-operation of higher education institutions, brings to the study program several years of international experience in the field of Master’s study. After all, international engagement is what distinguishes the program from other study programs in the education market. Apart from that, the online application of the master course allows a distribution over the regions.
The consortium of MHEI colleges associates the following universities:
- University of Ioannina, Greece
- Szent Istvan University, Hungary
- University of Bari Aldo Moro, Italy
- University of Zilina, Zilina, Slovak Republic
- Poltava University of Economics and Trade, Ukraine
The study program was approved in Malta by the NCFHE National Higher Education and Further Education Commission on the basis of the European Qualifications Framework within the Erasmus + program. The study course is equivalent to a Master’s degree (level 7 – postgraduate level). Accreditation of the course is guaranteed by EQA certification. Therefore, acquired ECTS credits are recognizable within the European Learning Area.
Online Master Course
The duration of the study course is 18 months and the Online Masters in Entrepreneurship program is co-funded by Erasmus+.
First, students have to pass 9 modules (subjects) in business, finance, management, marketing, ICT, etc. in the first 9 months. Then, students complete a 3-month internship in a selected SME enterprise. At the end of the study, they have to develop a business plan project (6 months) that will need to be presented in front of the commission.
