Award in Gender Based Violence Support for HR Professionals

The objectives of this course is to build the capacity of persons responsible for the wellbeing of employees and specifically victims of Gender Based Violence (GBV) with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to provide support to victims of GBV through an online e-learning level 5 accredited training course.  This course prepares the participants for the challenges in identifying and  providing assistance to to employees who may be victims of gender-based violence at the place of work or even at their homes.

This is also part of a European Funded Project between Advenio eAcademy, SOS Malta (project leaders), Victim Support Malta, Commission for Domestic Violence and CORE Platform.

Entry Requirements:

• HR experience and direct involvement in HR affairs.
• Competence in English

Learning Outcomes for Communication Skills for the whole course

The learner will be able to:

a) Express themselves more authoritatively on the subject due to the broad perspective to the GBV challenges presented in the course

b) prepare basic follow-up notes for circulation within their organisation, highlighting the actions required to combat GBV at the place of work and to support victims of GBV.

Learning Outcomes for Learning to Learn Skills for the whole course

The learner will be able to:

a) Understand the meaning of GBV at the place of work and in a domestic environment

b) identify those who experience GBV

c) understand the context within which perpetrators may be challenged

d) overcome the barriers to reporting GBV

e) address the challenges of intersectionality

f) understand the framework of legislation and policies that apply

g) know about the support services which are available at a national level

h) appreciate the responsibility HR personnel have towards supporting victims of GBV

i)act as catalysts to bring about changes of work culture and attitude to ensure a zero tolerance of GBV

j) develop a plan of action for their organisation to combat GBV at work and provide support to victims of GBV within their organisation.
