Scheme for E-learning Services to the Tourism Workforce
In May 2020 Advenio eAcademy was included in the E-Learning Courses initiative launched by the Ministry for Tourism and Consumer Protection and the Malta Tourism Authority. This generous scheme was targeted at employees within the hospitality sector that were impacted so badly with the COVID-19 pandemic and the related health & safety measures. All costs of the online courses were covered under this scheme.
The following were the terms and conditions for application:
Applicants can only be accepted if they upload a scanned copy of their ID cards and a scanned copy of a letter of employment proving that they are employed in tourism.
Applicants can apply for up to 3 short courses or one full year accredited course.
Applicants need to be suitably qualified to apply for higher level/accredited courses and are to submit details as per relevant application form.
The implementation of the programmes and course intakes will depend on the number of applications and their implementation will depend on confirmation of the relevant programmes by the MTA.
Applicants who apply for the ECTS accredited programmes must follow a structure within a specific Intake. These programmes include assessment elements such as participation in weekly live tutorial sessions, contribution in forum topics and submission of assignments. The online programmes shall be flexible so that, post COVID scenario, the applicants will be able to attend the courses outside working hours.
Entry Requirements for accredited programmes/courses:
Level 7 – Applicants must possess a first-degree qualification
Level 5 – Applicants must possess an Advanced level qualification
Level 4 – Applicants must possess a secondary school leaving certificate
