The SocEntrep4NGOs is an Erasmus+ a co-funded project launched in November 2021 to research, design, develop produce and implement a pilot programme in Social Entrepreneurship targeting practitioners. The key outcome is the Undergraduate Higher Diploma in Social Entrepreneurship developed by Advenio eAcademy in collaboration the consortium partners: University of Ioannina, Greece; Universita’ Politecnica delle Marche, Italy; Boğaziçi University (BU), Turkey; Solidarity Overseas Service (SOS), Malta; Academy of Entrepreneurship (AKEP), Greece; Forum AIC, Italy and Imece, Turkey.
On the 14th December 2022 a breakfast meeting was organised as a multiplier event at the Golden tulip Vivaldi Hotel in St.Julian’s to promote the programme and familiarise potential candidates with the ARPEL process to recognise prior learning and experience. Mr. Stephen P. D’Alessandro, Executive Director and Mr. James Scerri, Coordinator Systems & admin addressed participants and dealt with individual queries and concerns.
Mr. D’Alessandro explained the manner in which applicants with years of experience in the third sector, be it charitable, philanthropic, or cultural and entertainment organisations, can get recognition of their prior learning and experience on the basis of a formal identification of formal, informal, non-formal and relevant work experience. Presentation of suitable support documentation would be required for each element. This would then be followed by an online evaluation interview for the applicant to demonstrate the relevance of their prior learning and experience to their involvement in the programme. Successful completion of the ARPEL process will be credited with 32 ECTS credits at Level 5 and will enable participants to continue with the full Undergraduate Higher Diploma in Social Entrepreneurship.
