The SocEntrep Erasmus+ co-funded project was launched in November 2021 to support the growing number of social entrepreneurs in the partner countries. The project comprises three stages – (i) research & development of social entrepreneurial activity in the partner countries; (ii) design, development and production of accredited online educational programme in social entrepreneurship; (iii) implementation of pilot accredited online programme and feedback.
On the 1st September 2023 the partner of the Erasmus+ SocEntrep project got together in Ioannina in Greece for the third Transnational Meeting of the project. This event was held to monitor the progress of the project implementation and particularly to finalise arrangements for Stage 3 of the pilot programme of the Undergraduate Higher Diploma in Social Entrepreneurship. This stage requires students to complete an applied research project which could also include an internship to a suitable host organisation in the third sector.
Present for the meeting in Ioannina were delegates from Ioannina University as the hosts of the Meeting, AKEP – Greece, Universita Politechnica delle Marche – Italy, AIC Forum – Italy, Bogazici University Turkey, and Advenio eAcademy Malta. Also joining the meeting remotely were delegates from SOS-Malta and Imece – Turkey.
The meeting commenced with a review of project deliverables to date, highlighting the excellent feedback received from students for stages 1 and 2 of the pilot programme. The meeting reviewed the final project topics submitted by the students and agreed on which partner HEI will be supervising the students depending on the specific topic they chose.
