MySkills Scheme – Jobsplus
MySkills Scheme is officially governed by Jobsplus.
Whether you are currently employed, unemployed, or seeking to re-enter the workforce, the MySkills Scheme offers financial support to facilitate upskilling or reskilling. Take this chance to integrate lifelong learning into your career path and unlock new opportunities for growth. Co-financed by ESF+ under the Training for Employment Project (ESF+.01.195), the Scheme provides reimbursements of up to 100% for those who are unemployed and 80% for those in employment, with grants capped at €5,000 upon successful completion. All grants are subject to the Scheme’s Terms and Conditions, including the de minimis Regulation (EU 2023/2831) where applicable.

Eligibility
- Age & Residence: Applicants must be 15+ years old and legally residing in Malta. Foreign students need to be in possession of a valid TRC before the start of the programme/courses.
- Employment Status: Open to employed, unemployed, and inactive individuals, provided eligibility requirements are met.
- 65+ Applicants: Working individuals aged 65+ are eligible, provided they remain employed during the training period.
- Course Eligibility: Selected Training must be included in the MySkills Course Catalogue.
- Voluntary Training: Training must be voluntary and not mandatory by law or employer requirement.
- Training Cost: Minimum €100 (excluding VAT) and fully paid by the applicant.
- Application Deadline: Applications must be submitted by the last day of structured training (theoretical/classroom sessions).

- Valid ID Card or Residence Permit
- School Leaving Certificate (if aged 15-16 years old)
- Course Schedule (indicating all session dates)
- Official Receipt/s confirming full or partial payment of the training course

MySkills Scheme – Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. Who is eligible to apply?
Students holding a valid Student TRC covering the entire Scheme duration, legally residing in Malta, and meeting all eligibility criteria under the official Guidelines.
Q2. Is a Study Visa sufficient?
No. Students holding only a Study Visa are not eligible.
Q3. Do I need a JobsPlus account?
Yes. Applicants must have a Jobsplus account linked to their Maltese eID. Employment records must be accurate and updated.
Q4. What is the Scheme duration?
From the training start date (or application date, whichever is earlier) until the official Training End Date stated on the Certificate of Achievement.
Q5. When must my Student TRC be valid?
The Student Temporary Residence Card (TRC) must be valid from the training start date or the application submission date (whichever comes earlier) and remain valid until the official Training End Date.
If the TRC was issued after the programme started, students may only be eligible to apply for modules or exit awards completed after the TRC became valid, rather than for the full qualification.
Q6. When must I submit my MySkills application?
Applications must be submitted before or on the final day of structured training (the theoretical component of the course). Late applications are not accepted.
Q7. When is reimbursement confirmed?
Only after successful completion and full eligibility verification at the reimbursement stage.
Q8. What is the maximum reimbursement?
€5,000 per application.
Q9. What happens if I do not complete the course?
Incomplete courses are not eligible for reimbursement.
