How to provide Support?

The second module focus on identifying the ways how HR Practitioners can support victims of Gender Based Violence. The module will be based on five main sessions as follows:
1)    Legislation and Policies
2)    Available services to support victims
3)    Human resources and Gender Based Violence
4)    Change of Work culture and attitudes
5)    Conclusion and way forward

  • Contact Hours: 12
  • Self-Study Hours: 11
  • Assessment Hours: 2
  • Total Learning Hours: 25

 

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the module/unit the learner will have been exposed to the following:

  1. demonstrate a better understanding of the legislation and policies to be implemented on tackling gender based violence
  2. Demonstrate a better understanding of the available services to be used when supporting a victim
  3. Demonstrate an increased awareness of the circumstances and the experiences of persons experiencing violence
  4. Ability to set-up and implement policies against gender bases violence at the place of work and supporting victims of gender based violence at work or at home 

 

Each module will be assessed based on the following components:

  1. Quality of Contributions in Forums: 30%
    • Evaluation of participation and the quality of insights shared in online discussion forums.
  2. Quality of Contributions in Tutorials: 20%
    • Assessment of engagement and contributions during tutorial sessions.
  3. Assignment/Case Study: 50%
    • Completion and quality of assignments that demonstrate understanding and application of the course material.

Passing Criteria:

  • Students must achieve an aggregate of 50% or higher across the two components to pass the module.

 

Scholarship Schemes for Maltese residents:

  • MySkills Scheme: Malta residents are eligible for up to 80% reimbursement, capped at €5,000, subject to eligibility criteria. International students would be able to apply for the MySkills Scheme once they obtain their Student Temporary Residence Card (TRC). (For individual modules only)
  • Get Qualified Scheme ( Scheme available for Maltese residents ) – 70% refund of course fee as a tax rebate
