What is GBV?

The first module focus on identifying the core concepts of Gender Based Violence. The module will be based on five main sessions as follows:

1. Introduction to Gender Based Violence
2. Those who experience Gender Based Violence
3. Perpetrators and those who witness Gender Based Violence
4. Barriers to reporting
5. Intersectionality

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the module/unit the learner will have been exposed to the following:

1. Demonstrate a better understanding of the concepts and dynamics involved in gender based violence at work and domestically from different perspectives;
2. Demonstrate an increased awareness of the circumstances and the experiences of persons experiencing violence 
3. Demonstrate their acquisition of knowledge on gender based violence in relation to the local context
4. Ability to report such cases of gender based violence

Cada módulo se evaluará sobre la base de los siguientes componentes:

1. Calidad de las contribuciones en los foros: 30%
   • Evaluación de la participación y la calidad de las ideas compartidas en foros de debate en línea.
2. Calidad de las contribuciones en los tutoriales: 20%
   • Evaluación del compromiso y las contribuciones durante las sesiones de tutoría.
3. Assignment/Case Study: 50%
   • Completion and quality of assignments that demonstrate understanding and application of the course material.

Criterios de aprobación:

• Los estudiantes deben alcanzar un total de 50% or higher across the two components to pass the module.

• MySkills Scheme: Malta residents are eligible for up to 80% reimbursement, capped at €5,000, subject to eligibility criteria. International students would be able to apply for the MySkills Scheme once they obtain their Student Temporary Residence Card (TRC). (For individual modules only)
• Get Qualified Scheme ( Scheme available for Maltese residents ) – 70% refund of course fee as a tax rebate
